NKArtShop on the move

after long discussions, a series of support tickets to our hosting provider with no answers, and then the blunt note that their server crashed - Namon and I decided to move NKArtShop to a new provider, who has a functioning support system and high security servers.

It will take a little while to upload all the databases and set the store back up - but we hope to be back in 24-48 hours with our little store.

We apologize for the inconveniences and beg for your understanding.

this day started out so weird! I wanted to add a butterfly to the Jules kit and started painting on it this morning, had the wings already done, then after a few brush strokes on the body of the butterfly - it took an odd shape and I carried it a bit farther, added some shadows and some hair, then the dress and......there was a fairy hiding!! So I invested a bit more time and added some details to the tiny little thing :)

Hello and happy Saturday everyone,

being up working since 2 am I got on with some roses I want to add to Jules (the white cat). Since Jules is from GB - it will be English roses. I am working 'freestyle', means I have no reference image or photo to start out with, I had to have a rough sketch to know where parts of the rose will be placed and to get a feeling for dimension.I am halfway through and now will add details on leaves and so on, here is a WIP from this morning, starting out with the placement sketch. Painting is done with round brushes, the standard ones coming with photoshop and also PSP, settings to airbrush and pen pressure, size varies, depending on the part I am working on. opacity also is a matter of 'feeling' it rather than fixed settings, every flower/rose is different, so there is no screenshot for any settings when it comes to painting, its intuitive. Ok - off my soap box and here is the WIP

After one day painting spring flowers I needed a change of 'scenery'. I put the graphic below together for my gallery on renderosity, it gave me a great opportunity to practice image composition and background painting.

and a long day it was. Starting out with a virus attacked computer, I spent half the day limiting the damage, reinstalling programs and organizing my hard drives, learned a lot in the process and have now a super fast and smoothly running computer - every bad thing has also a good side as you see. Then I prepared an image for renderosity, my gallery at rendo is more than neglected and is time to add some images from the last years 'pool' and to catch up to other artists' work since I already lost about every friend I had at rendo lolol, guess they just got tired of me and my lack of participation in the rendo community, being online only twice a year or so . I still love them all :))
Max almost got run over by a car - thanks to a fantastic driver he didn't get hurt. Somehow another Max made it out of his harness...I am just happy nothing bad happened to him, the shock was all mine :))
Now I am ready to work a while on Jules' image and relax my much exercised nerves. Wishing you all a wonderful evening and good night

Good Morning all, I am already working on a new project, featuring 'Jules', a lovely cat with two different eye colors, I want to include him in a fairy theme, right now I am just 'collecting' ideas, some rough sketches/concepts, nothing to show off for the moment. I will post work in progress steps very soon.

As I checked my mailbox yesterday, I saw that I won the 2011 holiday contest in the 2D category at rendo, thanks for all who voted and here is the image I submitted - holiday theme lol, I know its a bit late for this but wasn't allowed to post it anywhere before the voting was completed.

regarding TOU/license etc.

I took some time to set up a spread sheet. I hope this will make it easier to see through the sometimes confusing TOU and credit regulations.
Nothing really changed on the TOU, I only simplified them somewhat (I hope lol)
the FAQ part will grow as we go - as soon as a question appears and is solved - we will add it to the FAQ part of the TOU page.

if you should notice, you have for example a tag with not exactly the same credits, don't worry about it, I'll not make you change or delete however credited tags.

Pete is missing

since 2 days, my cat Pete is missing. We can by now exclude an accident and have to assume, someone just picked him up and took him away from me.

If you, the person who is with Pete right now, read this::please bring Pete back home, I miss him terribly. He has an eating disorder and cannot handle regular cat food, he might stop eating all together. please bring my Pete back to me before he gets really sick.

If you live in the area Hayti, Missouri or surrounding towns and have seen Pete, please contact the local police department or the animal shelter caruthersville.
here is the description of Pete
11 month old seal point siamese (beige coat with dark brown siamese markings)
Pete is bigger than most siamese cats and has a rather rounded head
bright blue eyes
white whiskers
he 'talks' a lot, in all tunes and volumes
he is very trusting and loving, never had bad experiences with humans in his life
he is scared of dogs
he is neutered
